Pauline Sylvia Wood was born in London, England.
She graduated from Darby Mooer and then worked for the British Consulate in Germany.
This is where she met her husband who was in the military. She then made the move to Georgia in the US.
After the passing of her husband in 1981 she then moved to his hometown of Roanoke, VA with her two sons .
In 1985 she opened Shades of Color a boutique with a global perspective and an international flair .
